‘Modi wanted Hindus to retaliate’ – This is the front page headline of The Times of India dt. 12-11-05. As a matter of fact, I wanted to keep this blog out of dirty politics but somehow I am not able to resist airing my views on the subject.
“In an affidavit filed before the Nanavati-Shah commission, additional director general of Police R. B. Sreekumar has claimed that Hindus were to be allowed to vent their anger against Muslims and the former should not be arrested for it.” The CM said “Kaumi hullado ma tame (police) barabari karo chho. Tame bey Hindu ne pakdo chho to tame bey Musalmano ne pan pakdo chho, havey em nahin chaaley. Hinduono gusso uttara do -meaning - In riots, police tries to act fairly and arrests two Hindus and two Muslims, but this won’t do, allow the Hindus to vent their anger”
How nauseating!As this is a sworn affidavit filed by an Additional Director of Police, I feel there must be some truth in the statement. This is the state of affair in Independent India! And we call ourselves civilized!
