Pongal/Sankanti/Lohri

Last time I blogged was on 10th Jan. Certainly life has become very busy. But is it the only reason? Earlier I used to blog even as late as 1 a.m. IST, I used to visit quite lots of bloggs. But now days I don’t feel the urge. I feel basically one reason may be was the attraction of a new media, secondly may be it was a kind of escapade from the daily mundane, thirdly attraction of reading the thought process of unknown individuals and the thrill of letting my own thought known by others.

I think it was a process of venting the creative energy stored in my mind. Presently I am so much involved in some creative activities in my daily activities that I don’t need a separate medium for that. Anyway I think by February end I will complete my present activities and shall be back regularly.

It is quite late but I like to wish all the visitors of my blog a very happy PONGAL / SANKRANTI / LOHRI. Most of the Hindu festivals are celebrated in different parts of India, the form and name may be different but the basic theme is same. PONGAL is one of the most important festivals in Tamilnadu, whereas the Telugu people celebrate as Sankranti. The rest of the country including Bengal celebrate as MAKAR SANKRANTI, whereas in Punjab it is celebrated as LOHRI. It is the festival of harvesting. My wishes to all of you reading, ‘May your life become full with happiness like a good harvest’.

New Year

It seems ages since I blogged last. I did not expect All India Lions Meet would take so much of my time. The event took away so much of my energy that it almost took more than 72 hours for me to come back to normal life. Organizing such a big event is really a new experience for me. Making arrangements for more than 2000 delegates from all over India is tough job. I am happy that we could complete the task without major hick ups. There is nothing like the satisfaction of a job well done.

This year I have decided not to greet anyone on New Year. I felt, why should we celebrate New Year on 1st of January? Every year we celebrate New Year on 1st day of Baisakh. So why should I celebrate once again on 1st of January?
